Google Chrome now uses Gemini AI to suggest information from your Gmail when you fill out online forms. If you have Personal Intelligence enabled, Gemini can pull order numbers, tracking information, membership IDs, and booking confirmations from your emails and display them as autofill options.
When you click a form field, a pop-up menu shows suggestions marked "Suggested by Gemini." You can accept the suggestion, view the original email source, or dismiss it. Dismissing a suggestion does not delete anything from Gmail.
The feature is rolling out first to U.S. users on desktop, Android, and iOS who have Personal Intelligence enabled when using Gemini in Chrome.
Users should note a recent privacy policy change. Connecting Gmail and other Google apps to Personal Intelligence may expose your data to ad personalization. Google says it does not send personally identifiable information to advertisers and does not scan Gmail for ad targeting purposes. However, linking Personal Intelligence to Google apps potentially leaves you more exposed to targeted advertising based on your email, photos, and Drive data.
Google states that "sensitive data is encrypted" and users can manage autofill settings, including enabling or disabling enhanced suggestions, through Chrome's settings.
