Amazon has dropped the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar to $649, down from its usual $999 price. This represents a $350 discount and matches the lowest price tracked so far.

The Smart Ultra features a 5.1.2-channel design with nine drivers, including two upward-firing drivers that create height effects for Dolby Atmos audio. PCMag rated it "outstanding" for delivering immersive sound without requiring additional speakers. The soundbar includes Bose's AdaptiQ room-calibration system, which adjusts sound based on your room's acoustics.

The device works as a smart speaker with Amazon Alexa built in. It also supports Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, and multi-room audio through the Bose app.

The main trade-off is bass. While the soundbar's low end is respectable for a single unit, it cannot fully replace a dedicated subwoofer for action movies or bass-heavy music. You can add compatible wireless subwoofers and surround speakers later if needed.

A less expensive alternative is available: the Bose Smart Dolby Atmos Soundbar at $399, down from $429. This model sits below the Smart Ultra in Bose's lineup.
