The CRKD Nitro Deck, a Joy-Con replacement shell for the Nintendo Switch, is selling for $34.99 on Woot. This represents a 56% discount from its usual price of $79.99 and undercuts its current Amazon price. Price trackers indicate this is the lowest price recorded to date. Prime members receive free shipping; others pay $6. The deal is expected to last roughly one week or until inventory sells out. Woot does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or P.O. Box addresses.
The Nitro Deck addresses the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con stick drift problem by providing a full shell that the system slides into and locks with a latch. The shell features thicker, shaped grips similar to standard console controllers, full-sized sticks, and triggers with increased travel. Four back buttons allow control customization. Motion controls and rumble remain functional. A USB-C passthrough enables charging or video output.
The device has trade-offs. The right stick positioning feels cramped for camera control or aiming during extended play. The kickstand offers limited adjustment. The shell removes the ability to detach controllers, a defining Switch feature. The added bulk reduces portability.
For players who primarily use handheld mode and prioritize durability and drift resistance over detachable controllers, the Nitro Deck performs well at the current discount price.
